To All the Releases of 2020

January 4, 2020

To the media fanatic,

It’s that time of year everyone, but it’s movies I’m EXCITED to watch this year! What movies or tv shows are you looking forward to watching this year? Comment them down below and we can chat about it!

Oh and like I did last year, I’ll be updating my review as I watch the movies and TV shows, so you can always check back and see what I thought and we can chat about it ๐Ÿ’•

So without further ado, here are my most anticipated things I want to watch this year:

Movies

Legally Blonde 3

I was October 18, 2019 day’s years old (the day I’m starting this blog post) when I found out they were making a Legally Blonde 3!!! Who kept this news from me!?!?!!? I LOOOOOOOVE Legally Blonde. Period because I’m serious. I grew up with Elle Woods and her love for pink and for her bending and snapping back on all those who thought she was just another pretty face.

I LITERALLY can’t wait to see what Elle Woods has been up to, if Bruiser her dog’s still wagging his tail, and if she’s still married to Emmett because you know Warner. She dropped him like the hot potato he was.

Wonder Woman 1984

When I watched the first Wonder Women, I have never left a theater feeling so empowered. I mean that in so many ways. I grew up watching men as the heroes and to see a woman who fought back with so much class, beauty, grace, agility, and strength made me feel proud to be a woman. And you know what? Gal Gadot filmed this movie while pregnant. I mean, she did all those flips and tricks and stunts and fit into that tight suit and was pregnant. She is Wonder Woman indeed. I feel like people are really hard on DC movies, but I actually liked this one and I can’t wait to see this next adventure!

Mulan

As an Asian, you best bet Mulan was the movie I loved as a kid. It was the only movie that I felt somewhat represented as an Asian even though I’m not Chinese. But much like Wonder Woman, it was so empowering to see someone who not only was a woman who fought to save her country, but an Asian woman.

People have also been hating on this live action version so far and in some ways I can understand it and in some ways I can’t, but I always say don’t judge a movie by it’s trailer. The movie could be good, it could be bad, but you have to give it a chance. And I’m definitely going to watch Mulan. I’m kind of disappointed if I’m being honest that Shang isn’t in the live action. I get it though—-female empowerment and she doesn’t need a man, but still, who’s going to sing Make a Man out of You. Oh, right, this isn’t a musical. Still disappointed in that too because it’s not Mulan without Reflection, right? Or Mooshoo! Gosh, it sounds like I’m judging this movie even if I said don’t judge a movie before you watch it. I’m still going to watch it, i just thought I’d share why reservations first ๐Ÿ˜†

Black Widow

I guess it’s the year of the strong woman. I”M HERE FOR IT. I’ve heard rumors of the Black Widow movie and I never knew if it was actually becoming a thing, but when it was confirmed, I thought it was so fitting. All the Avengers had their solo movies and Black Widow didn’t and that sucked because it felt like the only reason that she didn’t was because she was a woman, which should never be the case. So I’m glad they’re giving her a time to shine.

Soul

Pixar can take my emotions and wrap them in a Kleenex box because gosh knows I’m going to be an emotional mess after I watch this one. The last time I throughly cried during a Pixar movie was with Coco because that movie was just sooooooooo GOOOD! If you know, you KNOW!

But this trailer really gave me some Inside out Vibes with the animation and that little teal blob character at the end that was dancing. I am also really intrigued by the entire plot in how it’s about an older man who wanted to follow his dream of being a jazz musician player, but one day he fell down a sewer hole, which kind of gives the allusion that he passed away without really achieving his dream, so it makes me think this movie explores how we should all chase after our dream and what our soul wants—-we should do what makes our soul happy and not what will bring us a life of happiness. Soul might have various meanings in this situation in how he wanted to do soul music, how this was his soul dream, or how we are looking into his soul.

I’m excited ๐Ÿ˜†

Onward

Nothing is better than Tom Holland and Chris Pratt in cartoon form. It’s so cute how they were in Marvel together, not they’re in Pixar and just because I’m not considered older, I have no shame to watch a Disney cartoon movie because you are never too old to enjoy the love of Disney.

Jungle Cruise

Any movie that has the Rock—aka Dwayne Johnson—in it no matter how scary, dangerous, or funny, is a movie I WILL watch. WILL.

Dolittle

I grew up watching all the Dr. Dolittle movies with Eddie Murphy and Kyla Pratt and I thought it was honestly one of the most underrated franchised movies, so when I heard they were doing a remake about it withRobert Downey Jr. and Tom Holland, I was loving it. I don’t know much about what this movie will be about, but I think it will have the same premise to the originals, but then again I haven’t watched the original Dr. Dolittle movies in ages. We also have to appreciate another good Marvel duo outside of Marvel. Tom Holland’s really thriving in the movie department if you ask me. Oh, and Selena Gomez is apparently in this movie too and I LOVE Selena Gomez with all my human heart because I grew up watching her on Disney and she’s my idol.

The Eternals

I don’t read a lot of comics, but I love me a Marvel movie and some Angelina Jolie and Richard Madden ๐Ÿ˜„

P.S. I Still Love You

I mean, who isn’t excited to see Lara Jean and Peter again? I can’t wait to see all the baking, all the romance, the games, and the friendship reunions. If the movie is anything like the book, I know it will be better than ever because the second book was what really got me hooked on this series and had me rereading the first book and picking up the last one in seconds!

TV Shows

Katy Keene

I’m an absolute fan of Lucy Hale and anything related to the world of Archie comics. I find it kind of cool how Lucy Hale was on Life Sentence, a CW show that got canceled, but then landed this role. Goes to show you that when one door closes, another one opens. I haven’t really read any of the Archie comics, not because I don’t like them, but because I’m not a hard core comic fan, but based on the trailer, it looks like such a fun, upbeat lively show. It really gives me the Carrie Diaries vibes a little if you remember that show from Netflix. But I’m excited!
