Hi lovely and beautiful human beings and welcome to floweringpages my book and lifestyle blog! π
This is my little corner—or space— in the world where I talk about all things books, recommendations, life, and more.Β
When I was young, I wasn’t the best reader.
But I guess I wasn’t really interested in reading until I found the right book that made me never want to be apart from words and the magical feeling they gave me. Thus started my journey as a reader from Geronimo Stilton to Rainbow Magic, and ultimately going down the YA dystopian hole of Divergent, The Mortal Instruments, Shatter Me, The Lunar Chronicles, Throne of Glass, and so much more. With each book I fell in love with, the less alone and lost I felt in this world where I did not feel a part of. And so here I am, a person captivated by words in the form of fictional places and people I wish I could meet or be.
I started this blog during a time I felt like fictional words and people were not enough to make me truly feel happy. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love reading and will always love reading, but something was missing. Reading is a very solitary hobby, but I didn’t want to feel solitary for all these emotions (read: frustration, angst, lovey-dovey-gooey feelings) I felt when I read. I wanted to share all these feelings, experiences, and love with people who understood the power and joy of finishing a life-changing book. I found the bookstargram community on social media, which led me to discover that I could start a book blog π . I am not a spontaneous person, but this was the most spontaneous leap I ever took—starting floweringpages.Β
This website is a collection of my inner-most feelings and my brain when I read a book, so please partake in the chaos that is my reader brain. But this website also grew overtime to be a safe place where I write about my experiences as a young adult not really knowing how to navigate all the new experiences that comes with being an adult.Β
Whether you found this page because you love to read or you are here to read some unsolicited (and may I say highly unqualified π) advice from a young adult, I am just glad you are here. Thank you for being here and thank you for existing.Β
I hope this blog serves as your place to feel safe and excited to talk about books or the things you love. Maybe you’ll feel inspired, or hopefully less alone.Β Above all, I hope this is a place that brings you much joy, laughter, and comfort within this blooming community.
And to every person who every felt lost, sad, or confused, know you are not alone and it does get better. There are spaces you will go, experiences you will have, and people you will meet (fictional or real) that will show you how beautiful and wonderful life can be. I know it does not feel like it, but there is so much love out there in everything you do. You will find something that gives you so much love.
And to every author out there, you are probably not reading this, but this blog goes out to you too. Thank you for saving this little girl who never quite felt like the real world could understand the magic of my romanticizing mind.Β
If you wish to contact me for any business related things or wish to be a part of the quote of the month, feel free to email me at floweringpages@gmail.com. And don’t forget to subscribe for weekly blog posts every Wednesday and Saturdays! My posts will mostly be book reviews, book recommendations, poetry, writing diaries, and life updates in general.Β
Β I hope you have a day as beautiful and bright day π
Love,
